TANLAP in collaboration with the Tanzania Law Reform Commission conducted a National Forum on the implementation of laws relating to Gender Based Violence and other crimes against morality in Tanzania. The meeting was officiated by Dr. Damas Ndumbaro the Minister of Constitution and Legal Affairs (MoCLA). In his speech Dr. Ndumbaro gave the position of the Government on the minimum age of Marriage to be 18 years and that, the Government will table a bill to the Parliamentary Committee on Constitutional and Legal Affairs April, 2023 . He added that the Government has completed the process of collecting opinion from the public relating to the minimum age of marriage and that the public is in agreement with 18 years.
